Fall 2012 Preview: Anna Sui

What inspired you for fall 2012?
I am inspired this season by the new Alexander Girard book by Todd Oldham and the new Charles and Ray Eames documentary, The Architect and the Painter. Also, I was looking at the charming illustrations of Walter and Naiad Einsel, and John Alcorn from the same period.

More hints about the Fall 2012 collection keeps rolling in, this time about the nature of the prints, from what I can tell! The color palette sounds amazing. I can’t wait to see how she’s going to tie-in the inspiration from the artists named above with her muses and genre mentioned in The Daily Q&A I reblogged yesterday. 

Isn’t that Anna Sui’s strength, though? To juxtapose seemingly contradictory ideas and inspirations against each other to create her own seamless narrative on the runway and in our lives?
